The data collected from the Scopus Database using the specific query statement. A total of 8181 publications in different forms (journals article, conference papers, book chapters, etc.) were being collated, tabulated and analyzed and inferences were drawn for the study. Further, annual growth rate (AGR) of papers; most prolifically authors, institutions; most cited papers; h-index; and citation status has been provided

An assessment of Digital Capability Training Programs among Higher Education Institutions in India

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the assessment of digital capability training programs among the top twenty universities in India as per NIRF ranking 2018. The study is an exploratory study which carried out to find out number of the training program, workshop or seminars conducted in universities in the preview of digital capability framework given by JISC (Joint Information systems committee). The result shows that Vellore University has conducted more training programs any than other universities. However, it is not enough to achieve the goal of digital capability in the universities as there are many manifestations to assess the digital capability of an institution. Institutions should create a series of training programs and workshop for students, teachers, and staffs on the basis of JISC six element

The purpose of present study is to evaluate the growth of scientific literature pertaining to Coronavirus disease 2019(Covid-19). In sum 1630 document published during 01 January 2020 to 6 April, 2020. Publication data were retrieved from SCOPUS databases using key terms and detailed analysis were made to understand the publication trends, authorship and collaborative pattern, country-wise distribution, core journal and most leading institutes. Study found that 82.88% (1351) of the research documents published on open-access platform which signify the rapid communication of research finding among global scientific communities. ‘BMJ Clinical Research Ed’ found to be most productive journal with 114(6.99%) research articles. China & USA dominates in the publishing research output of 515(31.60%) and 308(18.90%) respectively. There has been an unparalleled growth in the number of publications across the globe on COVID-19 since January 2020

Recommender Systems for Digital Libraries: A review of concepts and concerns

The study hopefully has given an understanding of Recommender System (RS) concept and trends of IR systems especially in the domain of digital libraries. It unfolded the concept of RS through the review of literature and presented an outline of the concepts. Paper discussed the importance of recommender systems in the digital library domain. Study further explain the concept of different kind of RS applied to different digital library software systems. This paper shows how recommender systems functions in different library systems and how these recommender system helps to the users to find and retrieve data or information from different databases. The basic aim of this paper is to know the future aspects of recommender systems in digital library systems and the implications according to its need. This paper contains about conceptual base of the recommender systems, their approaches and their usability in different field of information gathering systems Abstract The study hopefully has given an understanding of Recommender System (RS) concept and trends of IR systems especially in the domain of digital libraries. Perception and Use of Semantic and Social Features of Digital Libraries among Library and Information Professionals and Users: A Comparative Study

    Get PDF
The paper identifies the perception and use of Semantic and Social Features of the digital library among library and Information professionals (LISPs) and Users and presents a comparative study of their competencies in tune with the semantic and social features. As part of the survey of the special libraries in NCR of Delhi, the questionnaires and personal visits were made to 48 libraries (spread over 16 categories) to collect the primary data. The requisite data of 48 special libraries, were collected, collated and analyzed accordingly. The study has made clear that library and information professionals and users of digital libraries in SLICs have a fair knowledge and understanding of semantic and social solutions of digital libraries. There are a lot of semantic and social features available in the digital libraries and there is an urgent need to increase its familiarity and use among LISPs and users both. The study hopefully has given an understanding of the semantic solutions for the digital libraries based on semantic web technologies and results of the study can be accepted as a pointer for further experiments and training to improve these features of DLs to a new height

A scientometric analysis and visualization of the 50 highly cited papers of Eugene Garfield

135-144Eugene Garfield’s contributions to global informetrics and scientometrics literature is significant. In this paper, a scientometric analysis of Eugene Garfield’s 50 highly cited papers is performed. His papers were published in 32 journals including top-ranked journals such as Nature and Science. The top 15 keywords with the strongest citation bursts from 1989 to 2009 and references with strong citation bursts are presented. Co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling analysis based on source journals using VOSviewer were carried out. The result revealed that keywords 'citation relationship', 'scientific journals', 'biological journal’ and 'self-citations' started to burst/hotspot in 2002. The term 'citation analysis' has the highest number of four years' popularity as citation burst. The study further revealed that the top 50 publications of Eugene Garfield gained 8441 citations of the total citations of 9121 from 254 published documents. Garfield has Total Link Strength of 35 and has received 8511 citations which comes to 93.31% of the total citations and proved his dominance over the collaborators. Ninety percent of the papers (45) published in the USA and above 92% of the citations (8419) were also received from the USA's publications. Just five papers in three journals received 4856 citations (53.23%) of the total 9121 citations. These three journals include three papers in Science (with 3027); one each in Journal of the American Medical Association (with 1323 citations) and The Canadian Medical Association Journal (with 606 citations)

Enhancement of pool boiling performance using SWCNT based nanofluids: A sustainable method for the wastewater heat recovery

    Get PDF
Heat extraction from the wastewater is important and challenging task in the industry. Performance of the heat extraction decreases mainly due to the boiling crisis. Researchers are using nanofluids as a better alternative for the conventional base fluids. Nanofluids exhibit the better performance due to higher thermo-physical properties. Thus, in this study, we used single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) for the boiling operation. in the experimentations, we used two types of the heater surfaces, first is bare heater surface and other is the SWCNT deposited heater surface. Then we compared the performance of the both heater surfaces. The critical heat flux value observed in the case of nanoparticle deposited surface is 2.14 MW/m2 and the bare heater is 2.26 MW/m2. Because the nanoparticle deposited surface promotes the smaller size of the bubbles at a rapid rate. Due to the increased surface roughness. The heat transfer coefficient is also a 5 % more in the nanoparticle deposited surfaces than the bare heater surface
